Lunch seminar: Resourcing and Legitimation Strategies of Migrant Women Entrepreneurs in Sweden: Practice Based Perspective

Research profile seminar

Lunch seminar at Gothenburg Research Institute. Bring lunch and listen to a research presentation. Microwaves for heating lunch available.

This study puts forward the practice perspective to understand entrepreneurial legitimacy processes as experienced by historically disadvantaged groups.

Contestation and struggles are brought to the forefront in daily entrepreneurial practices through an in-depth analysis of life story narratives of a group of Swedish immigrant women with Turkey background. Conducted from the perspective of Bourdieusian cultural theory, this study reports the prime role of cultural capital and the agent's contextual sensibility in accessing and navigating different socio-cultural contexts as well as in granting relative capacity to the actors in legitimating their ventures.
